AMP Capital has a new leadership team for its retail real estate business following a restructure in August. Mark Kirkland has accepted the new role of head of retail development and asset creation. Kirkland will have expanded responsibilities including coordination of mixed-use asset creation and investment origination. Kirkland is currently head of retail and joined AMP Capital in 2012 as head of development for the shopping centre business. He oversaw the delivery of major expansions of Sydney’s Macquarie Centre and Pacific Fair on the Gold Coast, among others. Kirkland has also worked with Lendlease, The GPT Group and Stockland.

Meanwhile, Marco Ettorre will join AMP Capital to take on the role of head of retail and investments. Ettorre has spent over 20 years in a number of senior roles, across all aspects of retail management including fund management, leasing, development, asset and investment management. Following these appointments, Justine Hughes as head of asset and investment management and Greg Antoniadis as head of shopping centre development will be leaving the business. AMP Capital currently has more than $28 billion in assets under management on behalf of global investors.

David Martin is the new chief executive officer of independent valuer and advisor m3property. Martin joins m3property after leading architecture practice The Buchan Group and overseeing its partnership with Japanese architectural and urban design firm, Nikken Sekkei. Grant Jackson, who has filled the dual roles of director and CEO for the last decade, will remain with the company.

Kitty Vo has joined law firm Hall & Wilcox as a new partner, expanding its national property and projects practice. Vo advises on complex commercial, industrial and retail leases and licences. Among her achievements, Vo acted for Oxford Properties Group in the divestment of its $1.5 billion-plus portfolio of commercial buildings.

CBRE expands its Gold Coast office leasing team with the appointment of Luke Boulden. After nearly six years with Ray White Surfers Paradise, Boulden joins CBRE as its manager for office transactions, and will strengthen the agency’s offering as the Gold Coast’s leasing sector fundamentals improve, particularly in the A and B-grade markets.

Belle Property has launched its first dedicated projects office in Brisbane. Led by veteran agent and principal Colin Hatch, the office is the first of several expected to open across the eastern seaboard. The move responds to growing interest in inner-city living.
