Michael Kwok moves from Dexus to boutique advisory firm Archerfield Partners, Frank Hanson joins the RPS Australia team and Anne Pearson steps down from CEO of the Australian Energy Market Commission.

Michael Kwok has moved on from Dexus to join the boutique advisory firm Archerfield Partners as director for real estate advisory. Kwok was with Dexus for nearly a decade, most recently as co-head of development origination. He also held property and development roles with Commonwealth Bank, Colonial First State Global Asset Management and Valad Property Group.

Frank Hanson joins the RPS Australia Pacific team as its principal city shaper. A qualified urban designer and registered landscape architect, Hanson recently spent five years with the Victorian Planning Authority as principal urban designer. Hanson brings experience from high-profile urban regeneration projects in Victoria including Arden, Maribyrnong and Fishermans Bend.

Anne Pearson has retired as chief executive of the Australian Energy Market Commission. Before commencing with the Commission in 2007, Pearson was executive manager of Retail Regulation at Energy Australia and corporate mergers and acquisitions at law firms Freehills and Deacons. Suzanne Falvi will hold the fort while the executive search is underway.

AVID Property Group has taken ownership of residential developer Villa World Limited, positioning the new combined business amongst the top 10 land developers in the country. The $410 million acquisition will see AVID’s portfolio increase from 10 to 37 projects and more than 12,000 residential lots, securing a gross revenue pipeline of $4.7 billion. AVID CEO Cameron Holt remains at the helm of the new combined business.

TSA Management has expanded its operations as specialist project management business EVC joins its NSW business. EVC specialises in the refurbishment of commercial office buildings. With the help of recently-appointed commercial sector lead Ian Wilson, TSA will leverage EVC’s commercial and fitout expertise to further bolster the growth of this sector. Independent valuation and property advisory firm Herron Todd White has appointed Drew Hendrey as executive director of its valuations advisory. Hendrey spent more than five years at datahouse CoreLogic and will now be HTW’s primary point of contact for major institutional and corporate clients.

John Callaghan joins JLL as senior valuation director, based in Sydney, and will provide valuations for commercial assets in the CBD, North Shore, Parramatta and Macquarie Park. Most recently with m3property, Callaghan comes to JLL with nearly 15 years of valuation experience in Sydney. He has valued many of Sydney’s landmark office buildings including Westpac Place, Angel Place, Liberty Place, Darling Park and 101 Miller Street.

Toby Gray has joined the Infrastructure Sustainability Council as head of sustainability leadership. Gray has worked finance, infrastructure and building, not-for-profits, mining and manufacturing for two decades. He was most recently the director of ESE Group. ISCA has also hired Claudia Sylvestre as a sustainability administrator.
