Kieran Power joins WSP, Matt Davis returns to Bates Smart, Kate Harris moves on from Good Environment Choice Australia and Phil Stockwell joins Local Government Super in the top job.

Kieran Power joins WSP Australia as national lead for resilience and climate adaptation. Power was formerly practice lead for climate change and resilience at AECOM UK, where he worked with organisations such as the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, University of Cambridge, World Bank and 100 Resilient Cities. He has previously advised the UK Committee on Climate Change on urban adaptation and has an ongoing role in its Third National Climate Change Risk Assessment. Power will support WPS’s clients building resilience to acute shocks, chronic stresses and transition risks.

Matt Davis returns to Bates Smart as a studio director in Sydney. Most recently, Davis was a founding partner of Davis+Davis Architects in Adelaide and a member of the inaugural SA Planning Commission and Integrated Design Commission of South Australia.

Kate Harris is moving on from Good Environment Choice Australia. Harris is moving on from the ecolabel after four years as chief executive officer. General manager Michelle Thomas will be interim CEO while GECA hunts for a new CEO.

Phil Stockwell is the new CEO of Local Government Super, replacing David Smith who stepped down after just 18 months in the top job. Stockwell most recently chief operating officer at Eastprint Investments, an Asian investment firm managing more than US$188 billion in funds. Interim CEO Donna Heffernan resumes her previous role as deputy CEO.

David Evans has joined Savills Perth as its new director of office leasing after 28 years with JLL. Evans was most recently JLL’s regional director of office leasing. Over the last three decades he’s worked with Dexus, CBUS, Charter Hall, Perron Group, Frasers and Cape Bouvard, among others.

And lastly, while we don’t normally cover awards, this one couldn’t slip by without comment. Congratulations to sustainability stalwart Bruce Precious, who was awarded the inaugural Lifetime Achievement Award at the 20th annual Green Globes last week. Precious was the national manager of sustainability and property services for The GPT Group for more than a decade before starting his own consultancy in 2018. According to the Property Council’s national policy manager, Francesca Muskovic, Precious “is a valued peer and mentor to many”.
