Luana Kenny will lead m3property in Victoria, Frasers Property Australia promotes Mark Gleeson, Miriam Patterson joins Charter Hall as fund manager and Kathleen Stubbs joins JLL as CIO.
National independent valuations and advisory firm m3property has appointed Luana Kenny as managing director of its Victorian office. A certified practicing valuer, Kenny has been with m3property for nearly 20 years. She takes over the responsibility from former chief executive officer, Grant Jackson, who had combined managing director duties with his CEO role over the last 10 years.
Mark Gleeson has been appointed executive general manager of capital transactions at Frasers Property Australia. Gleeson has been with the company for 15 years and held his previous role of general manager for capital and operations for five years. Rod Fehring, Frasers Property’s CEO, says the appointment “provides us with greater structural flexibility to achieve the best balance between efficient use of capital and leveraging our operational capabilities in a variety of sectors”.
Kate Drews has been promoted to lead SMEC’s urban communities business in Australia, following the retirement of Michael Jones. Drews joined SMEC in 2018 as national manager for urban renewal and was recently appointed a director of the board of Consult Australia. She’s previous help roles with GHD and AECOM.
Miriam Patterson, former head of real Assets at Telstra Super, has been appointed fund manager for Charter Hall Direct. The creation of this new role reflects the strong growth of Charter Hall’s Direct business from $3 billion to $5.3 billion in the past 18 months. As head of real assets with Telstra, Patterson was directly responsible for overseeing Telstra Super’s $4 billion real estate and infrastructure portfolio. Prior to this, she worked at Hastings Funds Management and Ernst & Young in corporate finance.
JLL has a new chief information officer. Kathleen Stubbs was most recently global head of infrastructure and service delivery, and deputy global CIO, for Knight Frank’s global office in London. Stubbs’ experience spans blockchain, the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence and robotic process automation solutions. Her appointment follows the formation of JLL Technologies, a new business division, in September 2019. Longtime Silicon Valley veterans Mihir Shah and Yishai Lerner, who have led JLL Spark since 2017, have been named to oversee JLL Technologies and will join the company’s global executive board.
Knight Frank Australia has made two new appointments to its residential team, as part of an ongoing restructure across the company. Shayne Harris has been appointed national head of residential and Mark Manners has come on board as the company’s head of prestige residential for New South Wales. Harris spent a decade as the head of luxury residential at Savills, and was most recently head of network development at Raine & Horne Group and director at Harris Auctioneers. Manners was co-founder and director of Simeon Manners from early 2014 and has regularly ranked the top agent in Mosman for highest average sale price. Deborah Cullen, previously head of prestige sales in NSW will lead and manage the prestige team’s brand partnerships and relationship strategy, and will focus on prestige lifestyle properties.
Fergal Harris is JLL’s new head of Australia capital markets, and will relocate from Singapore to Sydney. His new responsibilities will focus on strengthening client relationships and developing new business lines, in addition to his existing regional responsibilities of leading the firm’s debt and financial advisory team. Harris joined JLL in 2017 from Standard Chartered Bank, and has previous experience with First Abu Dhabi Bank.
In other JLL news, the institutional capital markets team, based in Melbourne, has promoted Piers Jalland from senior analyst to associate. Jalland has spent the past three years working alongside team leaders Nick Rathgeber and Leigh Melbourne, gaining exposure to more than $6.7 billion in transactions. Prior to joining JLL, Jalland spent three years in commercial property valuations with Charter Keck Cramer.
Michael Barry has joined property developer Avenor as a senior project manager. Barry has three decades of industry experience in Australia, Hong Kong and throughout South East Asia. He has managed projects worth in excess of $350 million with companies including John Holland, Leighton Asia and Hindmarsh Construction.
