Colliers International appoints John Kenny as CEO for Asia Pacific, Naomi Hassam joins Avenor, Bernie Devine expands his role with Yardi Systems and Duo Projects takes on talented project manager Tegan Eldridge.
Colliers International has appointed John Kenny chief executive officer for the Asia Pacific, unifying the agency’s teams in Asia, Australia and New Zealand. Kenny has been at the helm of the Australia and New Zealand business since 2006. He has held leadership positions in commercial and industrial transactions, corporate real estate and real estate technology within Colliers and will continue to be based in Sydney. He takes the reins from David Hand, who is stepping away from his post for personal health reasons.
Naomi Hassam has joined property developer Avenor as a senior project manager. Previously a senior associate with Architectus, Hassam led the Pitt Street South Over Station Development bid for Lendlease. She was also project design manager on the AMP Quay Quarter redevelopment for Pier Property and was a senior associate with Mirvac for three years.
Bernie Devine has been appointed regional director for Asia Pacific sales by Yardi Systems. He has spent six years with the company as regional director for Asia. Devine has dedicated his 30-plus year career real estate and technology, lives in Hong Kong and is a qualified accountant and economist.
Duo Projects welcomes project manager Tegan Eldridge to its team. Eldridge most recently worked in London for Multiplex on the £200 million mixed-use development at 80 Charlotte Street. She also spent four and a half years with BHP Billiton in several roles, including as a China procurement specialist.
Frasers Property Australia has appointed Robert Pearce as international sales director. Based in the company’s Hong Kong office, Pearce will be responsible for developing new sales channels and relationships with buyers for the company’s Australian projects. Pearce was most recently Savills’ head of international residential in the Middle East and North Africa. He takes over from Edmond Lai, who has managed Frasers Property’s Hong Kong office for the past two decades, and who is heading home to Sydney to enjoy his retirement.
The NSW branch of the Institute of Public Works Engineering Australasia has a new CEO. Francine Binns has previously held board positions locally and overseas, including with the Australian Institute of Company Directors and City Tattersalls Club.
CBRE has secured several key recruitments. Stuart Colquhoun, Ashley Buller and Harrison Truelove have moved from JLL to join CBRE’s Victorian advisory and transaction services team for office leasing. The trio bring nearly five decades of collective experience to CBRE. As senior director Buller will assume the leadership of the Victorian office leasing team. Colquhoun is the new pacific director, while Truelove joins as senior negotiator.
In Brisbane, CBRE has appointed two new senior directors: Andrew Carlton and Campbell Tait. The duo, who rejoin CBRE following eight years at Knight Frank, bolster the agency’s Queensland office leasing team. Carlton recently struck deals with Flight Centre, Downer Group and CBP Contractors while Tait’s transactions include the pre-commitment of Rio Tinto to Midtown Centre and Commonwealth Bank to 180 Ann Street.
Commercial & General’s CEO Trevor Cooke has joined the board of Junction, a social enterprise that helps around 8,500 South Australians annually through housing and community services. A property industry stalwart, Cooke has held senior roles with AMP Capital, QIC, UBS and led the Property Council’s capital markets team for eight years.
