Commercial law firm Cooper Grace Ward expands its property team, Graham Hindley is Grosvenor’s new chief operating officer and hotel advisory firms Minett Consulting and Prime Square have joined forces.
Brisbane-based commercial law firm Cooper Grace Ward has integrated a team of eight into its property service offering, growing the team to 35. The new property lawyers will join Cooper Grace Ward from national firm Barry Nilsson. The team of eight includes partner Clive Nichol, special counsel Freeda Stevenson, associate Michael Donnelly and lawyer Angela Sheehy, supported by paralegals Laura Cottrell, Melissa Crosby and Rebecca Escobar, and legal assistant Skye Nicholson. Nichol, who started his career with Cooper Grace Ward 27 years ago, has extensive experience in retail leasing and management, combined with unique expertise in airports and aviation-related matters. Stevenson is an expert in acquisition and disposals, development of community title properties and marinas.
Graham Hindley has been appointed chief operating officer at engineering firm Grosvenor and will be responsible for maintaining double-digit growth. Hindley, who has spent the last three-and-a-half years leading the NSW and ACT teams at Grosvenor, has held senior management roles in Sydney, Malaysia, China and Germany working for engineering and manufacturing companies.
Hotel advisory firms Minett Consulting and Prime Square have joined forces with the launch of Minett Prime Square. Senior management of the combined firm includes the original founders from both Minett Consulting and Prime Square: Dean Minett, Robert Wilson and Arnaud Millécamps. The firm will have a presence in Melbourne, Sydney and Singapore.
CBRE has appointed Mark Curtain to head its Pacific office leasing business. Curtain has 26 years of industry experience, including five years at CBRE. His appointment as regional director closely follows CBRE’s recruitment of Stuart Colquhoun, Ashley Buller and Harrison Truelove from JLL’s office leasing business and the return of Campbell Tait and Andrew Carlton to CBRE’s Brisbane office leasing team.
Colliers International has launched a new engineering, facilities and sustainability specialisation with the appointment of three industry experts. Kate Slattery will lead the new team, having held roles with AGL Energy, Mott MacDonald, Norman Disney & Young and Aurecon. Slattery joins Colliers International from JLL, where she developed and led engineering and renewables teams. Leanne Frederiksen joins as an associate director, responsible for health safety and environment. She was most recently with the Australian Turf Club but has held roles with Mirvac and Macquarie Leisure Trust Group. Nick Mavropsi has also been appointed director for real estate management after moving across from Knight Frank, where he was national director of sustainability, asset Management.
Savills Australia has appointed Jane Lothian as state director and head of asset management in Western Australia. Lothian was most recently CBRE’s general manager at Cloisters, supervising all aspects of property and facility management of a high quality asset. She has also held previous senior management roles with JLL and Knight Frank.
