Hayley Jarick will lead the Supply Chain Sustainability School, the Greater Sydney Commission hunts for a new district commissioner as Morris Iemma resigns. Sarah Scruby leaves Frasers Property Australia and JLL hires Roger Miller.
Australia’s Supply Chain Sustainability School has appointed Hayley Jarick as its new chief executive officer after Robin Mellon stepped down from the role in March. Jarick was an an advisory board member when the school was established in 2015 and is a former deputy chair. She was most recently general manager of the dispute resolution specialist, the Resolution Institute and previously worked for Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia and BlueScope Steel.
Morris Iemma has resigned from his role as south district commissioner of the Greater Sydney Commission. Iemma, who was first appointed in 2015 and reappointed in 2018, says “new ventures” have impacted on his schedule and the “additional private work commitments have meant the best course of action was to step down”. Chief commissioner Lucy Turnbull AO has said the Commission will consult with the premier and local councils while it looks for a replacement
After nearly six years with Frasers Property Australia Sarah Scruby has moved on to Racing Queensland as senior development manager. Scruby, who was most recently development manager on key projects including Yungaba, Hamilton Reach and Cova Hope Island, is currently chairperson of the Property Council’s Future Directions committee in Queensland.
JLL has boosted its national industrial investments team, with the appointment of Roger Miller as 
senior director. Miller was most recently Colliers International’s director-in-charge of the Sydney West office. He has played an active role as a member of the Property Council’s Industrial Committee, serving a term as chair. Miller has also held development-based roles at Valad and Austcorp.
Sustainability stalwart Digby Hall has joined Northrop Consulting Engineers as its sustainable communities and climate resilience lead. Hall has previously worked with Aurecon, Umow Lai, Woodhead and run his own design practice.
Co-founder of Development Finance Partners Matthew Royal has established a new venture, Airlisting, a technology platform helping property owners to self-manage sales.
In-house property marketer Shane Stewart and Saxon Lyne, managing director at marketing agency Pontoon 8, have joined forces to co-found niche agency Pontoon Property. Based in Manly, Pontoon Property will focused purely on property marketing. Stewart recently held senior in-house marketing roles at Knight Frank and Colliers International and will take on joint managing director responsibilities for Pontoon Property alongside Lyne.
