JLL’s hotels and hospitality group makes changes to its leadership team, with Mike Batchelor taking on the role of CEO for Asia Pacific, while Watpac appoints Peter Furlong to lead its NSW team.

JLL’s hotels and hospitality group has made a series of changes to the Asia Pacific leadership team. Mike Batchelor will assume the role of CEO for Asia Pacific, overseeing a team of 80 people in seven countries and territories. Batchelor is currently the CEO of the JLL hotels and hospitality group for Asia. Craig Collins will be moving on from his role as CEO of Australasia and Peter Harper will be promoted to managing director, head of investment sales Australasia. Nihat Ercan, currently the head of investments sales for the group, will expand his role to cover Asia Pacific. Xander Nijnens, head of advisory and asset management Asia, will take on the responsibility of asset management across Asia Pacific.

Australian construction company Watpac has appointed Lendlease’s operations manager Peter Furlong to lead its New South Wales team as a general manager. Furlong was Lendlease’s construction director on Darling Square, but prior to this spent seven years at Watpac.

Ian Porter, former chief of staff to the Victorian minister for energy, environment and climate change, has taken a role as senior advisor for the Bushfire inquiries Taskforce. Porter was previously CEO of alternative technology association Renew for three years and chair of Greenfleet for seven.

Online property purchasing platform Openn Negotiation has appointed Will Ainsworth, former principal of McGrath Geelong, to head its growth and training for Australia and New Zealand. Ainsworth was McGrath’s top selling agent in Victoria for the last three years.
