Tanya Cox has been named as the next president of the Australian Sustainable Built Environment Council (ASBEC), as acclaimed architect Professor Ken Maher AO stands down after seven years in the job.
Ms Cox is a non-executive director of various ASX-listed and unlisted boards. She is the former chair of the Green Building Council of Australia and World Green Building Council and was chief operating officer of Dexus Property Group for 11 years.
The Green Building Council of Australia welcomed the addition of five building industry professionals to its Board of Directors this week, as it starts on a new strategic trajectory.
The new Board Directors are:
- Anthony Boyd, CEO of Frasers Property Australia
- Julie Coates, CEO and Managing Director of CSR Limited
- Selina Short, Built Environment & Resources Managing Partner
- Courtenay Smith, CFO of Mirvac
- Guy Templeton, CEO of WSP Asia Pacific.
They replace outgoing Board members Tanya Cox, Susan Lloyd–Hurwitz, Wayne Manners, Josh McHutchison and Ken Morrison.
Brisbane Housing Company, a leading not-for-profit developer and community housing provider, has added lawyer Karla Fraser to its Board of Directors.
Ms Fraser is a Partner and Board member of Allens, as well as the Deputy Chair of the Queensland Law Society Banking and Financial Services Law Committee.
She is the sixth woman to join the BHC board, which currently has 66 per cent female participation, compared to the Australian average of 34 per cent in 2022.
Claire Wu has been appointed to lead international sales for CBRE’s Australian Residential Projects business, as overseas interest in Australian apartments has increased.
Ms Wu has relocated from London to Sydney to begin her new role as Senior Director next week.
CBRE has appointed Theo Smyrniotis as the new General Manager of QV1 in Perth.
Mr Smyrniotis comes to QV1 from his most recent position as Head of Occupier Services WA with Knight Frank, where he was responsible for designing and implementing the service line’s strategy for WA.
Meike Daeffner has been promoted to Retail Manager for The GPT Group at Karrinyup.
Orhan Dzemail Omeragic has started a new position as a Data Sharing Analyst at Landgate in WA.
The Property Council of Australia has announced it has appointed Bruce Djite as its South Australian Executive Director.
Mr Djite is currently the Chief Executive of the Committee for Adelaide, where he has established a strong profile and purpose for that organisation in South Australia. Prior to this, he was the Football Director of Adelaide United, where he helped lead a transformation of the culture and performance of that club, a role he moved to following his career as a professional footballer and Socceroo.
