Investa’s Penny Ransom joins Lendlease as group head of investments, Knight Frank appoints Jenine Cranston as national head of ESG and the Property Council promotes Andrew Lowcock to deputy executive director in Victoria.
Penny Ransom is joining Lendlease as group head of investments, reporting to global chief executive officer, Tony Lombardo. Ransom, who is currently Investa’s chief investment officer, will be responsible for Lendlease’s global capital partner relationships and growing the group’s global funds under management. This will provide support for the delivery of Lendlease’s $112 billion global development pipeline. Ransom joins Lendlease in mid-June, bringing 30 years of experience gained across some of Australia’s largest property companies including Investa, Dexus and Colliers. She spent 13 years with Lendlease, rising to become head of equity with Lendlease Investment Management in London before moving to Dexus in 2011 and Investa in 2016.
Knight Frank has appointed Jenine Cranston as national head of ESG as it moves towards a net-zero carbon emissions target by 2030. Cranston has more than three decades of experience in the industry, holding senior leadership client-facing roles at CBRE and Colliers.
The Property Council has promoted Andrew Lowcock to the role of Victorian deputy executive director. Lowcock joined the Property Council in 2013 as policy and communications advisor for the Retirement Living Council.
Co-Lab Architects has hired Gerald Lock as senior project architect. Lock spent three years with Fender Katsalidis and was most recently project architect and BIM manager with Breathe architecture.
Clare Donovan, the City of Sydney’s planning program manager for sustainability, has taken on a role as national sustainability manager at Abacus Property Group. Donovan was the project officer for the Australian Conservation’s GreenHome project back in the late 2000s and spent many years driving energy efficiency outcomes at the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage. Abacus holds a diversified investment portfolio of commercial and self-storage properties.
Sonja Syre has become the first new director to be promoted at architectural firm Denton Corker Marshall in more than 10 years. She has been with the company since 2008. Marcin Polgar, who has worked in the company’s Warsaw and Melbourne offices, has been promoted to senior associate. The firm has also hired Louise Goodman as senior associate, following 25 years’ experience specialising in public architecture and education projects.
Urban planning and design practice Hatch RobertsDay has hired its first economics director in Australia, Richard Brice. Brice spent the six years as a director of real estate advisory with EY, and has 20 years’ experience as an urban economist, financial analyst and policy advisor under his belt.
Architectus has strengthened its education sector team with the appointment of Matthew Todd as its new principal. Todd was principal at John Wardle Architects, Hassell, and FJMT Studio. He has overseen numerous AIA award winning projects, including the UNSW Electrical Engineering Building and State Library of NSW Mitchell Building Galleries.
Giamol Pasin has joined AltX Group as head of property risk. AltX is an alternative investment platform. Pasin was formerly director of property risk at Westpac and was the founder of valuations practice Civic.
Mia Bannister has joined workplace specialist PMG Group as national client strategy manager. Bannister has contributed to Property Council committees in Queensland for nearly a decade and has worked for a range of architecture and construction companies.
