ISPT has appointed Jenny Lo as partnership success manager to strengthen its tenant relationships. Stantec promotes Alasdair MacKerron, Nicole Olsson takes up a new role with Mirvac and GHD makes two key appointments as Jo Metcalfe and Kelly Crawford start new roles.

Jenny Lo has joined ISPT as partnership success manager. The role has been created by ISPT to maintain and strengthen tenant relationships. Lo brings more than a decade of experience in developing partnerships and marketing growth strategies, and will work with the people and businesses at ISPT’s 477 Pitt Street so deliver compelling, creative and collaborative work environments.

Alasdair MacKerron has been promoted. Stantec’s structural section manager in Perth is taking on the role of associate director. MacKerron, who started his career in Scotland and who has been in Perth since 2011, has been a big contributor to the Property Council’s Sustainable Development Committee in WA.

Nicole Olsson has taken up a new position with Mirvac as national manager of digital strategy. Olsson was most recently with Aventus Group, which merged with Home Consortium recently to form HM Capital. Before that, Olsson spent more than a decade with Lendlease in several marketing and communication roles.

Jo Metcalfe has started a new position as general manager of technical services for GHD across Asia Pacific. Metcalfe has been with GHD for 18 years, most recently as recently global strategy development leader and managing director in the ACT and has been a huge contributor to the Property Council for many years.

In other GHD news, Kelly Crawford has been appointed general counsel in Asia Pacific, reporting to chief legal officer Denise Obst. Crawford moves to GHD after more than nine years with Arup.

Macquarie Group has appointed James Meydew as its global head of real estate following the sale of AMP Capital’s global equities and fixed income business to Macquarie Asset Management. Meydew, who held the same role at AMP Capital, is working alongside the rest of AMP Capital’s global listed real estate team. As part of the sale, $47 billion of assets under management was transferred from AMP Capital to Macquarie Asset Management.

Vale to Gold Medal winning architect John Andrews who passed away recently, aged 88. Considered a “giant” of Australian architecture, Andrews was responsible for several internationally-acclaimed designs including Harvard University’s Gund Hall, the Miami Seaport Passenger Terminal, the Canadian National Tower, and the Cameron Offices and Toad Hall in Canberra. He was presented with the Royal Australian Institute of Architects Gold Medal in 1980.

In another sad loss to the industry, celebrated Adelaide architect Ian Hannaford has passed away at the age of 82. Hannaford’s legacy includes Adelaide’s Rundle Mall, which partially closed off Rundle Street to vehicles in the 1970s. He also designed homes and multi-residential complexes, hotel resorts and the Victor Richardson gates at the Adelaide Oval. 

Sustainability Victoria has promoted Kate Dundas to acting chief operating officer after serving for two years as director of strategic foresight and research. Dundas has co-founded several social enterprises, including 3000acres and 5up5down.

Margaret Rozali joins AECOM’s Sydney buildings and places team as practice lead of building services, after a principal role at LCI Consultants. 

Knight Frank is opening a Gold Coast office in Surfers Paradise as it begins expansion plans across Queensland in anticipation of the 2032 Brisbane Olympics. The office will be led by George Parzis and Abel Erasmus, who move across to Knight Frank from NAI Harcourts, and who have a combined 40 years of experience, working in the industry since 2000.

Marc Lane and Rosamund Palmer have joined WSP Australia. Lane, who is now WSP’s principal for cities, is the former principal urban design advisor for Transport for London, and was an associate director at Urbis. He was most recently the principal advisor for policy and urban design with the Government Architect NSW’s office. Palmer takes on the role of associate in strategy, community and place, after three years as a place manager at the City of Parramatta.
