Engineers Australia has announced Romilly Madew AO as the new CEO of Engineers Australia, following the retirement of Dr Bronwyn Evans in May.

Infrastructure Australia has strengthened the Infrastructure Priority List and refreshed the Assessment Framework under her leadership, broadening the Assessment Criteria to allow for more holistic reviews of a proposal’s potential benefits, beyond those that can be monetised through traditional cost-benefit analysis.

Madew oversaw the publication of the 2019 Australian Infrastructure Audit, the 2021 Australian Infrastructure Plan, and provided support to the Australian Government in response to the COVID-19 pandemic during her time as CEO, all highly regarded pieces of work aimed at boosting economic growth, maintaining and improving our standard of living, and improving the resilience and sustainability of nationally significant infrastructure.

In a previous role, Madew was the Property Council’s Executive Director for Act and Sustainability.

Avenor, a developer and fund manager, has begun its expansion aspirations by adding two industry giants to its forefront as it ramps up its development and investing initiatives.

Matthew Faddy joins the Avenor team as CEO after a 25-year career in property funds, development, and asset management. The position comes after a 16-year career with The GPT Group, most recently as Head of Office and Logistics. During this period, Faddy was in charge of growing the combined portfolio to more than $18.5 billion and leading a staff of 130 people. Prior to joining GPT, he worked for Lendlease in top positions concentrating on the retail industry for over a decade.

Chelsey Blount, Head of Marketing & Communications, will oversee the company’s growth plan through a reimagined brand and communications endeavour.

Vanessa De Bono has been appointed as the new Chief Financial Officer of APP Corporation.

De Bono is a senior executive with over 30 years of experience, having held many leading roles in the luxury fashion, accessories, and healthcare industries.

She will oversee the group’s financial operations and will continue to uphold APP’s excellent governance and financial discipline.

Outgoing Chief Financial Officer James McMorron has opted to leave the company to pursue other possibilities.

GHD has promoted Andrew Hogan to the position of Global Commercial Risk Leader, to be based in Western Australia.

In his new post, he will oversee coordinating the company’s approach to commercial risk management, particularly in large projects. He has worked at GHD for 26 years, holding various positions in Australia and the UAE. He was most recently the Western Australia Operations Manager.

At LOGOS Group, Bharat Ravuru has been named Group Sustainability Advisor. 

Madlen Jannaschk has been promoted to lead the Asia-Pacific ESG Advisory at Cundall, in response to the increased demand for professional ESG consulting services.

Darren Smith has been hired by Constant as a Business Development Manager.

After six years at Melbourne-based architectural and design firm Carr, Sam Stefanou has been promoted to associate.

Corporate sustainability specialist Simon Carter has been named Head of ESG in Sydney by industrial and logistics property business ESR Australia. Carter is also the founder of the Sustainable Digitisation Project and the Managing Director of Morphosis, an independent sustainability strategy firm.

Kirsti Simpson has joined Woods Bagot, a worldwide workplace interiors firm, as the executive studio chair in its Brisbane office. She previously spent 26 years with the design firm Hassell. 

Amanda Fyfe has been promoted to Partner at Gray Puksand’s Canberra office.

Kit Boochangkool has joined architecture firm dwp (Design Worldwide Partnership). 

Hayley Brien has been appointed Head of Corporate Affairs at Scentre Group. Her extensive responsibilities at Westfield Australia and New Zealand include internal and external communications, sustainability, and external engagement.
