Mirvac Group announced the retirement plans for Chair, John Mulcahy, and CEO & Managing Director, Susan Lloyd–Hurwitz.
As previously disclosed at the Group’s 2021 AGM, Dr Mulcahy announced he would be retiring prior to the end of his three-year term and has now confirmed he will leave the Group on 31 December 2022. In line with the Board’s succession plan, Mirvac’s non-executive director, Rob Sindel, has been appointed as the new Chair, effective 1 January 2023.
After a decade in the role, Mirvac’s CEO & Managing Director, Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz has also announced her plan to retire from Mirvac on 30 June 2023, providing a smooth transition for her successor. The Group has commenced a process for her replacement.
The Australian Retirement Trust (ART), the $200 billion superannuation fund founded by the merger of Sunsuper and QSuper, has named Andrew Fraser as Chair of its Board to guide the Fund through its next phase of integration and expansion.
Fraser was selected as an independent Sunsuper Director in September 2015, and as Chair of Sunsuper in February 2018. He has been on the ART Board of Directors since February, following the merger.
Fraser replaces Don Luke, who decided to step down from the role of Chair as the end of his term approached. Although stepping down as Chair, Luke will remain an independent director until the end of his term on 30 November 2022. Fraser’s appointment is effective from mid-October.
Guy Bennett, an industry veteran and capital markets expert, has joined Cushman & Wakefield as Managing Director and Head of Capital Markets – South Australia.
Bennett has extensive agency and client-side experience, including ten years at Knight Frank and seven years at Charter Hall in Sydney.
JLL, a global property services provider, has added Josh Alfafara to its Flex team as the Flex Solutions Lead, Australia and New Zealand.
Alfafara joins JLL from The Executive Centre with over 12 years of experience in commercial real estate in roles all across the world.
Also at JLL, Melissa Haines has started a new position as Executive Team Assistant – Logistics and Industrial, WA. She is joined by Emma Quill, who has been appointed to the role of Executive, Logistics and Industrial, WA.
Gurner has opened a new office in Queensland, following the recent appointments of Rob Cooke as Chief Delivery office and Jamie Cali as its Queensland Project Director.
DKO announced seven promotions of personnel across its Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane offices.
Interiors specialist Isabel Munro has been promoted to Senior Associate. Sam McCubbin has been promoted to Senior Associate. Zoe Gillard, Dimitri Noulas, David Felicio, Rene Garcia and Luke Szklarz have been promoted to Associates at DKO.
Georgina Hafteh has started as the Associate Director, Project and Program Management at AECOM.
