The public health response to the coronavirus outbreak in Australia and globally is going to have a profound effect on our work and home lives over the coming months, not to mention the wider economic impact.
There will be further changes to come as governments escalate restrictions on movement and public gatherings to prevent the spread of the coronavirus within and beyond borders.
We all have a critical role to play in supporting this effort and member companies are already taking important steps to protect and promote the health and well-being of their staff, customers and industry colleagues.
Here at the Property Council, we are also adjusting our operations, including the suspension of face-to-face events, meetings and Academy courses. Our team will also start working from home next week. You can read more about our operational response here.
One thing that won’t change is our commitment to supporting our members during this very challenging period.
Our ways and means will adjust to the new environment, but we remain very strongly focused on keeping our members connected and making sure the industry’s voice is heard as governments manage their policy and fiscal responses to the outbreak.
The property industry will be front and centre in the recovery period, although that might still be some months away. We’ll be actively canvassing our members for their ideas and input to help inform our advocacy work during this period. In the meantime, we’ll also be keeping members connected through our committees and online events.
In these unique circumstances, you can absolutely count on the Property Council team to stay hard at work promoting the interests of our members and the industry.
