Knight Frank’s Sherice Kazzi has a clear mission. “I inspire people to love where they work.” Find out some placemaking tips in this latest installment of Secret Stars of Property.

Sherice Kazzi, Senior Marketing Manager, Placemaking and Communications, Knight Frank Australia

Three words to describe my job…  Dynamic, dirty and meaningful

When I explain my role to people outside the property industry, I say… I inspire people to love where they work. I work on creating thriving communities. This includes marketing content, activation and event programming, community partnerships and invigoration of spaces to make them enjoyed to their full potential by people who work in our buildings.

My three daily work essentials are… My favorites tab, runsheet and thesaurus140421 - Story 4 - Secret Stars - Sherice Kazzi

The biggest lesson I’ve learnt in my role… Data has an important role to play, but having real conversations and listening to a range of voices at the coalface has the potential to be POWERFUL.

My career motivation is… I remember when I first came across thousands of love locks when cycling over the Ponte Vecchio bridge in Florence. I love the local stories that people bring to a place – they make our cities and places special. I think about this often and even named my daughter after this memory. My career motivation is to bring that magic to the properties I am working on.

My advice to others considering a career in my field… Get your hands dirty. Listen. Never take for granted the teams on the ground. Pull in the experts. Look to startups, retailers and creatives for inspiration. Save, then proofread again.

The building or project that embodies what I do… I’m so proud to be responsible for marketing and place activation at ISPT’s National Circuit but the project that embodies my passion for place is Dream Gallery in ISPT’s 2 Constitution Avenue in Canberra. This is Australia’s first Indigenous detainee art exhibition featuring augmented reality and shows how the property industry can support reconciliation with First Australians and create amazing workplaces that inspire and uplift.

The inspirational quote I live by… “How you do anything is how you do everything”.

This year I’ll be… Relearning what ‘going to work’ means.

Who nominated Sherice? Bec McHenry, Director, The Place Agency

What makes Sherice a Secret Star of Property? Sherice is the real deal. There are a lot of people out there who talk about place and customer experience. What makes Sherice stand out is that she not only talks about this value, but creates and nurtures it within her assets better than any other property manager I have met.

I attribute that to her authentic spirit, her ability to understand what people want from their place of work, and her unwavering commitment to being the best she can be for her client, in her craft and throughout her career.
