Three words to describe my job… Dynamic, demanding and rewarding280421 - Story 4 - Secret Stars - Belinda Nash

When I explain my role to people outside the property industry, I say… It’s sometimes like directing traffic! There are cars, bikes, trucks and pedestrians that sometimes need a helping hand, so they don’t crash into each other on their way to their destinations – also known as project completion!

My three daily work essentials are… A skinny flat white, an iPhone and a positive attitude.

The biggest lesson I’ve learnt in my role…That there is usually a number of different ways to solve one problem.

My career motivation is… To be the person that inspires my daughters to see that their options are limitless. To create change, you must first be the change.

My advice to others considering a career in my field… Be authentic and always do what you say you’re going to do.

The building or project that embodies what I do… The smaller, faster but more difficult design and building projects where every day and every decision counts.

The inspirational quote I live by… “It always seems impossible until it’s done.” Nelson Mandela

This year I’ll be… Looking for the next complex project to deliver and trying to eat a lot less chocolate!

Who nominated Belinda? John O’Callaghan, Executive Director of VIC Project Management, Donald Cant Watts Corke

What makes Belinda a Secret Star? Belinda has been a highly valued and well-respected member of our senior leadership team since starting with us at DCWC. She has not only built up strong technical knowledge over her many years in the industry; she has also established a reputation as a trusted client advisor and project director with the ability to provide sound and timely advice for our clients time and time again.

What really sets Belinda apart and makes me want to recognise her achievements is the significant role she plays in developing team culture within our Victorian project management team and her close involvement with NAWIC, as she sits on the NAWIC Victorian chapter council. She has been instrumental in delivering on our commitment to diversity and inclusion.

Property Council members, do you work with someone who is deserving of recognition? We’re looking for the property industry’ ‘secret stars’.
