As businesses around the world implement hybrid work strategies, WeWork has launched its pay-as-you-go offering into the Australian market.
Why we love this project:
|
WeWork opened its first location in New York City in 2010. As of 30 June, WeWork’s global real estate portfolio included 763 locations across 38 countries, supporting around 937,000 workstations and 517,000 total memberships.
The WeWork On Demand platform meets the growing interest in alternative workspaces. Monthly On Demand bookings for workspace in North America using the platform has quadrupled and room bookings more than doubled since March 2021 alone.
With nearly 70,000 bookings to date, users can quickly arrange in-person meetings, find a dedicated workspace while traveling in another city, or secure rooms to collaborate with their teams.
WorkWork’s international president and chief operating officer, Samit Chopra, says the new offering fulfills the need for flexibility through accessible, convenient workspace in the era of hybrid work.
“With the expansion of pay-as-you-go access to spaces in major markets across the UK, Ireland, Singapore and Australia, we’re providing more workers with the choice and tools to decide how, where, and when they want to work, right from their phones,” he says.
“In today’s climate, flexibility is key,” adds Balder Tol, WeWork’s general manager for Australia and Southeast Asia.
Tol says WeWork On Demand will allow people to “test the waters of hybrid working, find a space to collaborate, or access workspace away from home”.
“As we move in and out of lockdowns and companies plan for a return to the office, WeWork On Demand will offer workers the opportunity to reconvene where and when they want, and in a way that is safe, convenient, and accessible.”
