Elizabeth Bay residential project gets green light

  • November 24, 2020

Top Spring Australia receives development application approval for 30 premium residences on site of former CWA headquarters in Sydney’s prestigious Elizabeth Bay.

 Why we love this project:

  • The project promises to create an “inner-city oasis” that adds character to the Elizabeth Bay community.
  • The City of Sydney has found that the current building not only has no heritage value – it also detracts from the heritage character of Elizabeth Bay. Top Springs Australia responds with a building that considers the heritage character and adjacent buildings in its architectural design and form.
  • The development’s brick façade will complement the surrounding streetscape, while green walls, recessed rooftop gardens and communal open spaces will harmonise with the built form.

Top Spring Australia has received development application approval from the City of Sydney for its premium residential project in the eastern suburbs hotspot of Elizabeth Bay.

Located at 11-13 Greenknowe Avenue in Elizabeth Bay, the project will replace an unused building which was formerly the headquarters of the NSW Country Women’s Association.

City of Sydney has confirmed the existing building has no heritage significance. The new design by PBD Architects will reflect the surrounding area’s heritage through its brick façade and art deco features.

The six-storey residential development will feature 30 luxury one-, two- and three-bedroom residences, including a penthouse, above a single level basement car park accommodating 31 vehicles.

To complement the design envisioned by PBD Architects, Top Spring Australia has appointed Melbourne-based designer, Miriam Fanning, of MIM Design. Taylor Brammer Landscape Architects has been appointed to create a “green haven” for residents.

Sydney Ma, director and general manager, says Greenknowe Avenue will demonstrate Top Spring Australia commitment to “delivering an exemplary level of quality and design, while respecting and honouring the distinctive architectural character of the local surroundings”.

The project is also important because of the limited amount of new residential developments in Elizabeth Bay, Ma adds.

The project will provide future residents with rare walkable access to superior amenity, including fine dining and retail.

Sales at 11-13 Greenknowe Avenue, Elizabeth Bay are expected to commence in April 2021, with completion slated for 2023.
