The Property Council is committed to building a diverse and inclusive industry. And we are making good progress on several fronts.
Thanks to the support of our members, I’m pleased to say that our industry committees have once again achieved our 40:40:20 diversity targets with 44% of our 1,800 committee roles awarded to women.
Through the Property Male Champions of Change, 21 of our industry leaders are taking action to increase the number of women leaders in our industry, grow our talent pipeline and to build inclusiveness.
In the lead-in to International Women’s Day this Friday, we’ll be announcing the 500 participants in the 2019 and 2020 Women in Property program, following an extraordinary 1,100 nominations received this year. And we’ll be applauding the 1,100 leaders championing female talent through networking and professional development opportunities in this important initiative.
Next week, we are sharing our experience on a global stage as part of a Male Champions of Change delegation to the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. We’ll also be conducting a property roundtable event in New York in collaboration with EY.
Supporting diversity in our industry keeps our businesses connected to the expectations and the aspirations of our customers and communities. It goes without saying that attracting, retaining and growing the very best talent also makes smart business sense.
We’ll continue to back our words with action by bringing diversity to life in everything we do.
