Property Leaders’s Summit

Today the Property Leaders’ Summit Day two kicks off in Canberra.

Leaders on both sides of politics join us at Parliament House courtesy of our Capital Markets Division.

We were pleased the Prime Minister could join our Board meeting yesterday.

Tonight, Jim Hazel and Charlotte Vidor AM will deservedly be inducted into the Australian Property Hall of Fame for their tireless leadership and remarkable
achievements.

They have both played tremendously influential roles in the industry, and I look forward to joining industry leaders in celebrating their good deeds.

Now More Than Ever

The National Reconciliation Week theme for 2024, Now More Than Ever, is timely reminder that we need to tackle the unfinished business of reconciliation.

Over 1.4 million people are employed by the property industry, and we have a crucial role to play in promoting the economic empowerment of First Nations peoples.

Recently, in collaboration with Social Traders and Supply Nation, we developed a new Guide to Social and Indigenous Procurement to provide advice to businesses
looking to engage with Indigenous businesses and leaders. We commend it to you.

Also, hearty congratulations to the Property Council’s own Ellie Laing-Southwood whose book with Adam Goodes and David Hardy, ‘Somebody’s
Land: Welcome to Our Country’
has recently sold over 100,000 copies.

Opening More Doors Giving Day

The Property Council of Australia is pleased to continue to partner with Women’s Property Initiatives by supporting them on their Opening More Doors Giving Day on 6 June.

Every dollar donated on this day will be matched by their generous partners. Dig deep and help them open the doors to more homes for vulnerable women and children.

Next week, migration and the megatrends.
