A jolly big thank you.
Thanks for supporting us and working with us through ’24.
With apologies to The Killers, it’s not confidential, they’ve got potential. We have assembled some of the best teams in the PCA’s proud history as we approach our 56th year.Â
(Complaints to the author. Tin o’ Cadbury Roses to the winner).
And yet alongside that talent, it is with your expert input, including the smarts of 2500 leading committee and board members from our 2500 member companies, that our teams have had such a strong year across the country.
You have helped us push the advocacy boulder up the hill.
You have helped us offer better events, smarter Academy courses and bring you the thought leadership and the research you need to grow your businesses and most importantly your people. (Festive to note – 70c in the dollar that you spend on our events goes straight to PCA advocacy.)
That shows in our leading role in public debates on key election issues that matter to our industry.Â
That shows in the increasing public recognition that leaders of our industry are national leaders.
From the NT, through the ACT to Queensland, we have championed better investment settings and productive planning to boost our great Australian cities. In each of those elections both major parties borrowed heavily from our work.
In the coming year we will see both sides of politics in WA and Federally take recognisable Property Council policies to their respective elections.
Why? Because we work to promote good investment and planning policy coming from any side of the parliament.Â
We champion good policy with the evidence that will make our cities better.Â
Your evidence, your case studies, the data we generate with your help.
So thank you again. And to my executive and senior leaders.
It has been a strong 2024.Â
We could not, I could not, have done it without you.
Rest well, be merry and see you looking sleekly prosperous in 2025!
Championing Tech and AI: shaping our sector’s future
Boom! This week marks the public launch of the Technology and AI Roundtable.
The Roundtable lays the groundwork for Australian real estate, for your organisation and for you to reap the growing benefits of global technological transformation.
Bringing together industry leaders, the Roundtable will advocate for smarter technology adoption and better policies to address the industry’s biggest challenges—including data governance, AI integration, cybersecurity, sustainability, and the adoption of operational technologies that enhance efficiency and resilience.
Looking ahead to 2025, we will be calling on members to volunteer for working groups aligned with the Roundtable’s strategy.Â
This is your opportunity to contribute directly to the development of practical solutions that will shape the future of our sector. Get into it! Â
Farewell talented readers, the Property Council will be on a break from Monday for two weeks and Property Australia will return on 5 February.
Special thanks to our editorial team Rhys and Anuja, alongside sponsorship shaman Ben, and to our writers, sponsors and contributors throughout the year.
