Top of the morning, clever and charming readers.
Interest rates down – chance of April Federal election up.
Forget the hot air, the policies of the major parties are largely set.
We have spent January talking to senior members of both major parties using our draft election platform as the guide.
Expect good announcements for planning and housing from both sides in the next few months.

Accelerating Smarter Development
The Property Council is proud to support the Accelerating Smarter Development project, run by our brilliant friends at NBN Co and Urbis.
We know the future of technology is exciting and so launched our Technology and AI Roundtable late last year.
Incorporating new technology into growing communities is vital. Your input will help the project prioritise opportunities, address challenges and develop effective strategies.
Please take a few minutes to complete the survey and share your views with the terrific teams at NBN and Urbis.
Vale Maurice Pitard
Maurice Pitard will be remembered as a shining example of leadership in our organisation and our industry.
Maurice was the Victorian Division President of the Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA) in the 1980s and an active National Council member.
As former CEO Peter Verwer has reflected, ‘He helped spearhead the consolidation of BOMA into a genuinely national industry voice and was a powerful advocate for the organisation’s transition to the Property Council of Australia in 1996.
‘Maurice was a mentor to several Victorian executive directors over the years and was recognised for his longstanding and exemplary service through his induction as a Life Member of the Victorian Division.’
A true pioneer.
Vale Maurice.
