All good things must come to an end, as they say, and so it will soon be with my time at the Property Council.
After eight years as CEO and a collective 25 years with the organisation, I’ve decided that the end of the year is the right time for me to step away and pursue fresh opportunities.
It has been a special privilege to lead an organisation that is a true partnership between dedicated members and a professional staff team. That’s always been the Property Council’s special mojo and the secret behind our every success.
It’s been very heartening to receive so many kind messages since Monday. I have learned so much from so many members over the years.
My heartfelt thanks to our Board, Executive and staff team present and past. A particular shout-out to the National Presidents I’ve worked with over my time as CEO: David Harrison, Stephen Conry AM, Mark Steinert, Susan Lloyd-Hurwitz and Darren Steinberg – great leaders all.
The end of the year is still some way off and there is a lot of work to do. Over this period the Albanese Government will hand down a critical ‘reset’ budget and lock in key policy architecture around productivity, housing, infrastructure, cities and emissions. The Property Council is engaging closely on all these issues.
Our critical work in bringing the industry together to learn and connect continues. Yesterday I was in Adelaide for a tremendous education sector event and tomorrow I’ll be joining delegates in Melbourne for our inaugural Capital Markets Forum showcasing a stellar line up.
I look forward to seeing many of you on the Gold Coast for the Property Congress in a fortnight (which I’m delighted to say is now a sell out).
I look forward to seeing you soon.
