Business Park redefines benchmarks

Horsley Drive Business Park in Western Sydney has “redefined excellence” with impressive environmental credentials and an innovative business structure that will support future regeneration projects.

Horsley Drive Business Park is a 20.4-hectare site, located on the corner of Cowpasture Road and Horsley Drive, owned by Western Sydney Parklands Trust (WSPT) and developed by Frasers Property Australia.

Frasers Property entered into a development agreement with WSPT to deliver a high-quality industrial estate with a mix of facility types.

The business park was presented with the coveted LJ Hooker Commercial Award for Best Industrial Park at the Property Council of Australia and Rider Levett Bucknall’s Innovation & Excellence Awards in May.

Reini Otter, Frasers Property’s executive general manager of commercial and industrial, says Horsley Drive Business Park “provided the perfect platform to showcase our credentials in the industrial area”.

The project has “redefined the benchmark for excellence in industrial parks across Australia,” Otter explains.

The park boasts significant environmental credentials and was the first industrial project in Australia to achieve a 6 Star Green Star rating from the Green Building Council of Australia.

“The estate was primarily master-planned to deliver supply chain efficiencies, however architectural presentation was also prioritised,” Otter adds.

“A modern, sophisticated architectural expression was applied to enhance the estate visually using high-quality materials and finishes.”

Otter says an “innovative business structure” has delivered “outstanding results” for all stakeholders.

The project has created 700 jobs “in addition to an income stream for future regeneration initiatives within Western Sydney Parklands for many years to come”.

By activating vacant land with low recreational and ecological value, WSPT is generating funds to develop and manage new recreation facilities, expand the 1,000-hectare biodiversity corridor and create more cycling and walking tracks.

Horsley Drive Business Park is fully occupied. The eight companies operating across five buildings include specialists in hi-tech manufacturing, chilled food distribution, homewares manufacturing and distribution and advanced logistics.
