An industry that employs 1.4 million Australians offers an abundance of career opportunities.
Our membership reflects that diversity of skills and professions, from those who design, plan and construct our built environment through to roles driving innovation in technology, delivering sustainability or managing large investment funds.
Despite its economic significance and the contribution it makes to creating great places for Australians to live and work, our industry has received relatively little attention from the business schools in our universities. Dr Jamie Alcock from the University of Sydney has some interesting ideas on how to change that in this week’s issue of Property Australia.
Attracting and retaining top talent to our industry is an ongoing priority for our members.
We support a variety of programs to develop the skills and expertise of people working in our industry, whether it is professional development opportunities through The Property Academy, diversity programs such as 500 Women in Property, or even encouraging girls in high school to explore their career options through Girls in Property.
Continuing to develop the technical skills, professional standards, business capability and entrepreneurial ambitions of our people is vital for a strong and prosperous Australian property industry into the future.
