Today the property industry’s leaders gather in the nation’s capital for our annual Leaders Summit.
This morning Shadow Treasurer Chris Bowen will address members as Labor builds its economic agenda in the lead-up to a 2016 federal election.
Tonight, delegates will hear from both Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Treasurer Joe Hockey as they outline their jobs plans.
And tomorrow, the Property Council board will engage in discussions with other senior ministers.
The Leaders Summit is an important opportunity for industry and political leaders to connect.
It is also an opportunity for us to share the story of property and construction’s economic and social contribution.
Our industry has the largest economic footprint in Australia – generating 11.5% of GDP, employing 1.1 million Australians and paying $72.1 billion in state, federal and local real estate taxes each year.
And we build the homes, jobs and strong communities that Australia needs for a prosperous future.
Stay tuned for more about this story in the months ahead.
