Wynyard Station renewal

Wynyard station is set to be transformed with a $1 billion project including grand transit hall, public concourse and new entrance from George Street.

The changes are to be the centrepiece of “Wynyard Place,” a new commercial and retail precinct including a 27-level office tower.

The NSW Government formally accepted Brookfield’s final binding offer for “Wynyard Place” as part of the unsolicited proposals process designed to encourage industry to approach government with innovative ideas.

Brookfield’s proposal recommended the consolidation of four buildings to deliver a four-level public concourse, a new transit hall, entrance to Wynyard Station and a state of the art office tower.  The concourse will service more than 100,000 commuters daily.

The Property Council believes the revitalisation of Wynyard Station will create vibrancy and add to Sydney’s status as a global city.

Wynyard Place is due for completion from 2020 onwards.
