Worthy recognition – South Australian Review progresses
On Thursday, 18 November the report of the Review of the Retirement Villages Act 2016 was tabled in South Australian Parliament.
In total the review makes 60 recommendations. of significance, it strongly endorses the Retirement Living Code of Conduct, through two recommendations, which are:
- That operators must disclose whether or not they are Signatories of the Code and is accredited under ARVAS, and
- There should be a training requirement about the Code of Conduct for retirement village staff.
The Retirement Living Code of Conduct is an industry initiative, developed and supported by the Retirement Living Council and Leading Aged Services Australia, which is intended to help operators provide a trustworthy and high-quality service for those living in, and considering moving to, a retirement community.
