World’s best showcased at The Property Congress
One of the most eagerly awaited sessions at this year’s Property Congress in Sydney will focus on six major projects around the globe that have captured the imagination of the industry.
The six featured projects are:
- SHARD London (WSP Group)
- Dr Chau Chak Wing Building, Sydney (Lend Lease)
- Msherieb Downtown, Doha (Rider Levett Bucknall)
- BIQ House, Hamburg, Germany (ARUP)
- National Maritime Museum, China (Cox Rayner Architects (QLD)
- Taipingqiao Project, Shanghai, China (China Xintiandi)
A video presentation on each of the six projects will cover topics such as economic and financial factors in the development, vision and innovation, quality of design and finish, user satisfaction and lessons learnt.
Following the presentation, a panel of experts, most involved in the various projects, will discuss these topics and take questions from the floor. The panel will include:
- Tom Smith joined WSP in 1994, holding a number of senior business leadership positions with WSP’s UK, Middle East and Indian businesses. During this time, he has been closely associated with many of WSP’s flagship projects such as Ministry of Defence – Whitehall HQ, Morgan Stanley – Canary Wharf HQ and Zayed National Museum.
- Murray Coleman OAM, is Managing Director Building Australia at Lend Lease. He joined Lend Lease in 1987 and has over 25 years’ experience working in a number of senior roles across the business both in Australia and overseas.
- Sam Graham is a Director of Rider Levett Bucknall in the Middle East focused primarily on the provision of Project Management and Cost Management services.
- Haico Schepers, Principal at ARUP, joined the company in 1997 and has since been involved in many high profile, multidisciplinary building design projects. His approach to design stems from his experience as both an architect and an engineer.
- Michael Rayner, Principal Direct at Cox Rayner Architects, is an Adjunct Professor in Architecture at both Griffith University and the University of Queensland, and a Past President of the Australian Institute of Architect’s Queensland Chapter.
- Murray Coleman OAM, is Managing Director Building Australia at Lend Lease. He joined Lend Lease in 1987 and has over 25 years’ experience working in a number of senior roles across the business both in Australia and overseas.
- Sam Graham is a Director of Rider Levett Bucknall in the Middle East focused primarily on the provision of Project Management and Cost Management services.
- Stefan Dembinski was appointed Chief Operating Officer of China Xintiandi in April 2014. China Xintiandi is an owner, operator and manager of premium commercial properties in China. Dembinski leads the asset management functions within the company and is responsible for the overall enhancement of the business’ operations.
- Siobhan Toohill is head of group sustainability and community at Westpac, responsible for the organisation’s sustainability strategy – responding to pressing social issues including demographic change, economic solutions to environmental challenges and helping customers achieve sustainable financial futures.
