Work smarter with Yardi business intelligence

Yardi Orion Business Intelligence allows owners and managers to have the ability to improve property and portfolio performance by unlocking key data insights with the help of powerful and flexible reports and dashboards.
When it’s used effectively, business intelligence (BI) can add strategic and tactical value to decision-making processes, help cut costs and assist businesses in identifying new opportunities for growth. Without it, the data that organisations generate daily in the course of normal business transactions lack context and offer little in the way of insight.
There’s no doubting the power of BI, says Terry Gowan, regional solutions manager at Yardi Australia. But he says organisations frequently fail to make the most of the BI software they’re using.
“While industry analysts agree that implementing business intelligence software can generate a significant return on investment,” says Gowan, “many organisations struggle to gain user adoption of BI solutions and to realise their anticipated return on investment in full.”
Delays in getting up to speed with the capabilities of the software is a key issue, he says. “Implementations frequently stretch out for several months before a tangible presentation layer is available for users to interact with, whereas Yardi Orion Business Intelligence is an out-of-the-box solution integrated with Yardi Voyager.”
Out-of-the-box integration allows users to leverage existing real estate data in Yardi Voyager via Orion Business Intelligence. Users can collaborate by adding comments and participating in online discussions.
Orion comes with a library of dashboard content, reports and an analytic database so users can begin accessing business intelligence from the outset. Key performance indicators can be configured to the organisation’s benchmarks. Colour-coded dashboard indicators and reports make it easy to spot outliers at a glance. The Microsoft Tabular Data Model and access via Microsoft Excel enables ad hoc query and analysis of performance data.
According to Yardi, data can be ‘sliced, diced and pivoted’ to spot performance outliers. And allowing others users to view the data is simple as saving it to an Excel report and uploading it to Orion Business Intelligence.
“Like all Yardi products, Orion BI is a browser-independent, mobile-friendly platform,” says Gowan. “It lets you view and analyse your real estate data when and where you want. You gain a 360-degree view of your assets’ performance by combining financial and operational metrics on the same dashboard. Portfolio-level aggregated data increases your insight with full drill-through to property and lease-level detail, which makes for a very user-friendly, powerful and flexible tool without having to build and maintain a custom solution.”
