Wickham Park precinct the latest focus for BCC
Brisbane City Council is currently undertaking a range of precinct development plans around the CBD.
The latest in this suite of plans is the Wickham Park Precinct Plan, which comprises Wickham Park, Emma Miller Place and Observatory Park, as part of Council’s commitment to revitalising under-utilised spaces in Brisbane’s city centre.
The precinct is the gateway between the CBD and Spring Hill and includes a number of heritage sites including The Old Windmill and Spring Hill Reservoirs.
Council is developing the new precinct plan to:
- enhance the precinct for safer community use
- revitalise the parks and key facilities to allow for increased use
- deliver better accessibility and connectivity through the precinct
- protect and showcase the rich heritage sites and values; and
- champion and facilitate partnerships to activate key spaces.
