WATERFRONT MASTER PLAN RELEASED

Brisbane City Council has finalised the City Reach Waterfront Master Plan which establishes a vision to guide future development along a 1.2 kilometre stretch of river frontage extending from the Botanic Gardens to Howard Smith Wharves.

The Master Plan includes key features such as:

  • a wider river promenade to allow more space for people to move and gather
  • additional shade trees and landscaping
  • more locations to access the river for water-based activities
  • enhanced public parks and improved lighting of riverside buildings and heritage features.

The Property Council provided input into the draft master plan when released for consultation in 2019. As an important stretch of the riverfront in terms of transport, development and activation opportunities, the Property Council will continue to work with BCC on the delivery of opportunities highlighted within the plan.
