Water Quality Protections Discussion Paper

Targeted consultation is underway on a proposal to apply State Planning Policy post-construction stormwater impact assessment benchmarks on development sites less than 2,0m2.

The Department of Environment and Heritage Protection and the Department of Infrastructure, Local Government and Planning are seeking responses to the ‘Strengthening the water quality protections of the SPP discussion paper’ which outlines the case for managing stormwater on small development sites. The document can be accessed below.

Consultation follows departmental investigations in 2016 into the current thresholds to which State Planning Policy stormwater design objectives are applied.

Submissions in response to the discussion paper are due by 5pm on Friday 8 December, and can be lodged via [email protected]
