Emerge Associates recently welcome Graduate Environmental Consultant Reece Lewis to the Emerge Associates Contaminated Land & Acid Sulfate Soils (CLASS) team.
Adelaide-based building surveyor Troy Olds will lead the Australian Institute of Building Surveyors (AIBS) for the next two years as President, taking the reins from Timothy Tuxford.
Highly awarded property and construction group Pindan is continuing its national growth strategy into NSW with the appointment of Allyson Small as Business Development Manager in their Sydney based team.
Allyson comes to the new role with over 25 years in the construction industry with a diverse skill base in both architecture and project management. Pindan has been operating in Western Australia for over 40 years and opened their Sydney based office in 2015, followed by Brisbane in 2016.
Achievements
AMP Capital will begin a long-awaited $800 million development at Karrinyup Shopping Centre next week, increasing the size of the centre from about 60,000 square metres to almost 110,000sqm. Multiplex has been confirmed as builder for the project, working with architects Taylor Robinson Chaney Broderick and Hames Sharley. Business News
Optus Stadium was awarded the coveted Colorbond Award for Steel Architecture and the National Award for Public Architecture at the Australian Institute of Architects 2018 National Architecture Awards. The 60,000 seat stadium was built using over 14,000 tonnes of structure steel and was designed by Hassell, Cox Architecture and HKS. Optus Stadium receives top honours at the AIA National Awards
Georgiou‘s Mandurah Traffic Bridge project has won a World Demolition Award in Ireland, beating 43 other deserving projects to take out the prestigious award. Congratulations to Georgiou on their first international award.
Fratelle Group‘s Rossiter Pavillion won the National Award for Best Public Building Design at the 2018 National Association Building Designer Awards.
Arup Transport Engineer Kassia Ralston won the Judges Commendation for the Young Achiever Award at NAWIC (National Association of Women in Construction) Awards for Excellence alongside some talented contributors to the construction industry.
Adam Wood of Urbis took home the 2018 WA Young Planner of the Year Award at the Planning Institute of Australia WA Awards for Planning Excellence.
Congratulations to Probuild Constructions’ Kirsty Edwards, winner of the 2018 WA NAWIC Award in the category of Outstanding Achievement in Safety. Kirsty is one of the Project Managers for the Towers and Ritz Carlton at Elizabeth Quay.
The Institute of Managers and Leaders (IML) selected Hendry Group CEO Emma Hendry as the ‘Emerging Leader’ for the 2018 Sir John Storey Leadership Awards.
Big thumbs up to EY‘s Asmaa Zahid, AECOM‘s Heather Hu & Julie Brooks, GHD‘s Josef Van Boven and Westpac Group‘s Dara McCallion who were all voted as one of Australia’s top 25 Graduate Recruiters by the Australian Association of Graduate Employers (AAGE).
