WA HomeBuilder and Building Bonus applications open
WA home builders can now apply for up to $45,000 in government grants to assist in the construction of new homes.
Finance Minister Ben Wyatt said State Government was committed to securing an ongoing pipeline of work for WA businesses, stimulate the economy and create WA jobs.
The State Government has released a joint application form for the State Government’s $20,000 Building Bonus and the Federal Government’s $25,000 HomeBuilder. Different criteria apply to each grant.
Building Bonus is available for owner-occupiers or investors who enter a contract to build a new home on vacant land or enter into an off-the-plan contract to buy a new home as part of a single tier development with construction to start within six months of the contract date. The HomeBuilder is available to eligible owner-occupiers who enter into a contract to build a new home or substantially renovate their existing home or purchase a new home off-the-plan, with construction to start within three months of the contract date. Contracts must be entered into between 4 June 2020 and 31 December 2020.
Property Council WA strongly welcomed the McGowan Government’s Building Bonus on top of the Federal Government’s HomeBuilder, with Executive Director Sandra Brewer describing as “an absolute game-changer for Perth’s languishing residential property market”.
