WA Division Council sets agenda for 2018/19
The WA Property Council Division Council met last month to set the 2018/19 financial year advocacy priorities. These priorities will guide and inform all committee priorities, our media strategy and events program.
We look forward to working with all of our members to achieve these ambitious and essential priorities:
1. Infrastructure WA: established in 2018-19 and including majority private sector members
2. METRONET: ensure it is rolled out with the right governance framework and in support of infill & density
3. Strata reform: push for all reform legislation to be introduced in 2018 including termination requirements for old schemes, and seek effective implementation by Government agencies
4. Local government planning reform: seek State Government action to ensure single approach to planning processes and scheme updates across all local government, including exemption from planning assessment or private certification of permitted uses, supported by mandatory reporting of planning performance
5.Infill & housing diversity: ensure infill and diversity gets planning priority and a level policy playing field – make sure any new policy outcomes are equitable and consistently rolled-out across sectors
6. Stamp duty reform: advocate for relief for off-the-plan property purchasers & seniors’ “right-sizing”
