Village manager training – book nowDedicated training courses for retirement village managers and staff will be held in Melbourne and Brisbane in the next month as part of the Village Management Industry Diploma.The Diploma was put together last year by the Retirement Living Council and the Property Council Academy to remedy the lack of specific training courses for people in the retirement living sector, especially village-based staff.The half day Navigating the Retirement Villages Act course by Minter Ellison Lawyers will teach participants about key parts of their state’s retirement village legislation that villages must abide by. This course runs in Melbourne on Monday 4 April.The three day Village Management Advanced course provides participants with a thorough understanding of management, compliance and organisational issues that village managers will encounter in their day-to-day work. This course runs in Brisbane from 5 to 7 April and in Melbourne from 3 to 5 May.Speakers at these three day courses come from a wide range of organisations both within and outside the sector, including Stockland, Lendlease, Aveo, Blue Care, Alzheimer’s Australia and Russell Kennedy Lawyers.In addition to these courses, our online Introduction to the Retirement Village Industry course is available to be taken at any time, and is the perfect way to familiarise new starters with what a village does.
