Victorian Opposition commits to Energy Saver IncentiveIn an announcement made on 7 August, the Victorian Opposition has confirmed its support of the Victorian Energy Saver Incentive, also called the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target (VEET).The Property Council of Australia met with the Opposition Minister Lily D’Ambrosio earlier this year, following the Government’s announcement of the early closure of the Scheme in June.We advocated for the VEET’s continuation in the absence of a national energy savings scheme and called for greater efforts to incentivise its take-up in the commercial sector.Details of the Opposition’s scheme are due to be announced prior to the Victorian State Election in November.
