Victorian inquiry confirmedA Victorian parliamentary committee will conduct an inquiry into the operation and regulation of retirement housing in Victoria.The Victorian Parliament’s Legal and Social Issues Committee will examine retirement villages, residential parks and caravan parks, and make recommendations for legislative reform.The committee will also examine the option to appoint a retirement housing ombudsman in Victoria and the impact of local government rating.The inquiry’s terms of reference are available here, with a report due by March 2017. The Property Council’s Victorian Retirement Living Committee will coordinate any industry contribution to the inquiry.
