Victorian Construction ForecastsThe latest construction forecasts for all states and territories have been released by the Australian Construction Industry Forum. In Victoria, residential building is the dominant sector of activity, with a slight downturn in spending projected for 2014-15, with marginal growth predicted in the two years following. The biggest winners in Victoria over the next five years are anticipated to be offices, telecommunications, industrial, and health and aged care. Electricity and pipelines, apartments and townhouses, and water and sewerage are all expected to see declines in average annual spending. The forecasts are included in ACIF’s Australian Construction Market Report, covering the national, state and territory markets for residential and non-residential building, and engineering construction.
