VEET target announced for 2016 – 2020 A new target which will expand Victoria’s Energy Saving Incentive, also known as the Victorian Energy Efficiency Target Scheme (VEET), has been announced by the State Government at the inaugural Energy Efficiency and Productivity Summit. The target extends the next phase of the scheme from 3 to 5 years, and incrementally increases the number of certificates to be delivered, beginning in 2016:2016 5.4 million certificates 2017 5.9 million certificates 2018 6.1 million certificates 2019 6.3 million certificates 2020 6.5 million certificatesIn our feedback to the Government earlier this year, the Property Council recommended a suite of measures for the scheme to be made more accessible to the business community. We look forward to continue this dialogue as the Government refines the range of methodologies used by the scheme to recognise energy saving opportunities in the commercial and industrial property sector.
