Vale Rod Samut

Rod Samut, one of Queensland property industry’s most respected figures, passed away on Thursday 21st September.

A former Queensland President of the Building Owners and Managers Association (the forerunner to the Property Council), Rod Samut, was a tireless contributor and instrumental in steering the organisation through its infancy.

Reaction from industry leaders to Rod’s passing have included reflections on his determination through tough market conditions and his strong commitment to his family.

Over his five decades in industry Rod held many roles including Board Chairman of Trade Coast Central, Chairman of the Office of Economic Development for the City of Brisbane, and Chairman of the Brisbane Business Forum.

Rod’s funeral will be held at 10am on Friday, 29th September 2017, at St Agatha’s Catholic Church, 52 Oriel Road, Clayfield. He will be deeply missed by the Property Council family.
