Vaccination rates progress

Our Chief Health Officer continues to remind us that until vaccination rates dramatically increase, the threat of a snap lockdown looms large. While our thoughts are with those in other states who remain in lockdown and continue to be hit hard by the ongoing impacts these events have on consumer sentiment and activity, it serves as a constant reminder that vaccination is our best line of defence against the COVID-19 virus.

To boost the state’s lagging vaccination rate, amid an expected rise in Pfizer supplies, a new mass vaccination hub at the Brisbane Entertainment Centre in Boondall will open on September 8.

The site will initially offer 10 bookings before ramping up to match the 3000 a day being delivered at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre at South Bank and those expected to be offered at the Logan Entertainment Centre by the end of September.
