URBAN UTILITIES FREEZES WATER AND SEWERAGE PRICES FOR SIX MONTHS

Urban Utilities have announced a six-month pause on water and sewerage price increases in response to COVID-19.

The price freeze is designed to support the community and businesses through the economic recovery period resulting from COVID-19.

It is important to note that these prices do not include the State Bulk Water Charge, which is set by the Queensland Government. The State Government’s Bulk Water Charge is set to rise by 3.1% on 1 July 2020.

Urban Utilities will enact a price increase on 1 January 2021 when its component of the average residential bill in the region will increase by 2.3% or $5.20 per quarter.

Urban Utilities is offering a number of assistance options to help customers who are unable to pay their utilities bill due to COVID-19.

Customers can visit www.urbanutilities.com.au/urbanassist or phone the General Enquiries line on 13 26 57.
