Townsville Lunch: Townsville CBD Revival

The latest Property Council Townsville Lunch: Townsville’s CBD Revival allowed event attendees to gain an exclusive look at the exciting projects that are underway in the city centre.

Mayor Jenny Hill opened the event with an overview of what Townsville City Council is currently doing to encourage investment in CBD.  The Mayor discussed Council’s economic development strategies and announced that Council will work with the property industry to draft a development incentives policy.  

Following the Mayor’s speech, Shari Tagliabue – Townsville Bulletin moderated a panel discussion with Martin Locke, Managing Director – Martin Locke Homes, Therese Smith, Managing Director – Gleeson Group and Mayor Jenny Hill

The panellists discussed the Flinders Lane and The Hive projects, along with other investments proposed in and around the CBD, as well as the challenges and opportunities that are presented.

Future Directions: Stadium Tour

Property Council members received an exclusive tour of the North Queensland Stadium as part of the Future Directions Site Tour.

Attendees were guided through the construction of the Stadium by managing contractor Watpac and received a sneak peak of the corporate and broadcasting sections located in the western grandstand.
