Townsville City Deal Implementation Plan released
The Implementation Plan for the Townsville City Deal was released on Monday, 24 April 2017.
Townsville’s City Deal is Australia’s first adaption of the UK’s successful City Deal model of infrastructure prioritisation and funding and was signed in December 2016. The deal locks together the Australian Government, Queensland Government and Townsville City Council into a 15 year commitment covering a range of initiatives aimed at strengthening the local economy.
The Property Council has been a strong advocate of the City Deal model, and its adoption in Townsville.
With a strong focus on the first five years of the Deal, the Implementation Plan provides greater detail on the delivery of the Deal’s commitments, including timeframes and opportunities for further engagement.
A first annual report on the Townsville City Deal’s progress will be released at the end of 2017.
