This edition we speak with Katherine Grace, Stockland General Counsel & Company Secretary.What time do you start work each day?I have quite a varied week as I try to spend time with my kids either in the morning or the evening depending on my work schedule. On the days I do school drop off I am usually in by 8.30am and if I am flying solo I try and get in by 7.30am to squeeze in some extra time before my meetings start.How much time do you spend on social media each week?If I add it all up it is probably about 3 hours a week.What’s the funniest piece of advice you’ve been given in your career?Tricky question! Probably the car analogymany years ago someone told me that in navigating office politics most people fall into the following categories: accelerators (on the go and doing deals), handbrakes (for saying no) or hub caps (look good but do nothing).What is the best piece of advice you would give to aspiring young women in the property industry?Be confident and understand how you valuable you are to the industry.Sum up your job in 3 wordsLegal risk managementIf you weren’t Stockland’s General Counsel & Company Secretary, what would you do and why?I have a real passion for history and I love sharing knowledge, so maybe a history teacher.What made you choose your career path?I did mock trial at school which I loved, and that set me on the path of study and then practising law.
