The Queensland Plan Review

The Property Council has submitted feedback to the five-year review of The Queensland Plan (The Plan), a strategic document produced to guide the state’s growth over the next 30 years.

Introduced in 2014, The Plan aimed to create a unified vision for growth by establishing nine foundation areas: education, community, regions, economy, health and wellbeing, environment, people, infrastructure and governance – these also contained targets to reinforce the aims of the foundation areas and support the document’s overall vision.

The Property Council supported The Plan when it was introduced in 2014 and continues to advocate for a strategic plan that guides good growth, which will be especially important as the state experiences a population increase of 2 million people over the next 25 years.

The submission also highlighted the need for The Plan to align with more recent policy settings, other Government documents, and inform decision-making processes, which would assist in creating an overall coordinated and unified vision for the state.  The submission also advocated for more regular reviews of The Plan to ensure the document remains relevant and up to date.
