During 2013-14 the Property Council’s committees have capitalised on the Queensland Government’s appetite for reform and have secured major wins across all sectors.
Our committees have informed a number of government reviews into some of the most critical legislation for our sector. This includes Queensland’s infrastructure charges framework, PAMDA, BCIPA, the Retirement Villages Act, the Planning and Development Act, a number of local government planning schemes and much more.
During this term our committees have also been responsible for a number of landmark research projects, including the inaugural industrial vacancy report, CBD discussion papers in Brisbane and Townsville and Property Interests: Benchmarks for Queensland Planning Schemes.
In addition to contributing to our advocacy work, our committees also continued to deliver a first class events program – reaching 10,725 delegates in the past 12 months alone.
The Property Council asks for a significant commitment from our committee members, and we greatly appreciate the dedication all our volunteers have shown to the betterment of the industry.
We encourage current committee members who would like to continue their involvement to nominate for the 2015-16 term.
