The latest Property Council Queensland Submissions
Over the past two weeks the Property Council Queensland Division has responded to important reform initiatives.
The Property Council lodged a formal submission on the proposed amendments to the Criminal Code (Criminal Code (Trespass Offences) Amendment Bill 2019).
We took into consideration the impact trespassing can have on disrupting business, damaging property and affecting employee’s welfare and supported the proposed amendments. The Property Council believes the proposed amendments are reasonable and necessary to ensure the safety and protection of our members and their assets.
The Property Council through our Sunshine Coast Committee lodged a formal submission in response to the Sunshine Coast Council’s intention to nominate the Sunshine Coast region for recognition by UNESCO as an international renowned biosphere.
We commend Sunshine Coast Council on their vision to have the Sunshine Cost recognised on the global stage as being Australia’s most sustainable region – healthy, smart and creative. However, we urged Council to amend the proposed Biosphere nomination to provide clarity that the Sunshine Coast will pursue its sustainability aspirations while also facilitating the growth strategies as identified and directed by the ShapingSEQ South East Queensland Regional Plan 2017.
